To ski in Slovenia is probably not on the top of most people’s lists when thinking about a holiday or visiting a resort of any description. However it is an absolutely beautiful country and you may be surprised to hear it borders western European countries, Austria and Italy.

Kranjska Gora is by no means a huge resort, it does however offer 40 km of well groomed, picturesque piste suitable for all standards, especially those trying skiing for the first time. As you would expect it offers a good range of bars, restaurants and discos, and for an evening of a little more sophisticated entertainment, the local casino should not be overlooked!
Another attraction of taking a skiing holiday in Slovenia are the non skiing attractions available. The extensive excursion options include visits to beautiful Lake Bled and the awe-inspiring Postojna caves. For those less adventurous non skiers, horse sleigh rides, bowling, tennis and swimming are also available at close hand.
In conclusion, the friendly people of Slovenia set the tone for a wonderful break in an unusual country. Without ever being outstanding, the pistes and the après ski are more than adequate for anybody’s requirements, and when you take into account the incredible value for money available from a ski holiday in Slovenia, you must think about it seriously when planning your next trip.
